Get the lowdown on key clean energy 2020 ballot initiatives

PV Magazine has made our lives easier by rounding up the most important clean energy initiatives on the 2020 ballot. Results: In 10 years Nevada will be 50% renewable and in 3 years Columbus, Ohio will be 100%. Boulder’s new 20-year franchise with Xcel Energy will probably pass, possibly impeding the city’s effort to transition to renewable, while Denver’s clean-energy-focused sales tax increase, which is projected to pass, will boost the effort to shrink the city’s carbon footprint. The Shakopee, MI effort to dissolve the Shakopee Public Utilities Commission due to corruption has not passed, though Wisconsin’s WEC Energy Group is set to retire 1,400 MW of coal and add an unprecedented 800 MW of solar, 600 MW of battery storage and 100 MW of wind.
