Biden’s plan to extend the tweaked solar tariff

On the table for Biden is extending Trump-era tariffs on solar panel imports past the 2/6 expiration date, and his administration is considering it – but with some alterations. These would include doubling the number of cells that can be imported before the levies kick in to 5 GW per year from 2.5 and excluding bifacial panels (popular in utility scale). Apparently it’s Biden’s plan to find common ground between union labor (supportive of restrictions) and clean energy developers (who want the cheaper overseas supples).
