Thin-film solar panel manufacturer Toledo Solar is making a play for the residential market. The company is departing from Ohio’s other thin-film solar manufacturing company First Solar, the world’s largest manufacturer of the product for utility-scale projects. Toledo Solar’s offering is a frameless panel rather different from traditional crystalline-silicon modules. Thin-film panels feature increased resistance to shading and a lower degradation rate. This means they can be particularly fitting for difficult kinds of installations and warmer climes.
