No doubt affordable battery storage is the last frontier in enabling a truly healthy, clean, distributed power infrastructure for the world.

This recent report from WoodMac suggests a greater than 20x growth in for Front-of-the-meter US storage applications in the next 5 years. And a 5 to 10x growth in resi and non-residential applications during the same time frame.

This NREL article talks about the 4 customer (property owner) use cases as well as the 9 ISO / Utility Company uses cases for storage applications.

While the predictions favor a faster growth rate for utility scale solutions, my sense is that customer service (property owner) applications will grow faster than WoodMac’s forecast over the next 5 years.
