SolarAcademy Journal: Power of Meditating

Week 26.

Last week was another week of connecting the dots. Accomplished the following:

  • Conversations with industry leaders
  • Meetings about potential investments
  • Helped a Bay Area private school solar project team dig into the math of their Solar ROI calculation
  • Held conversations with various tech startups
  • Additional work on the SolarAcademy platform
  • Got one step closer to the start of our first sizeable microgrid solution (preliminary design & timeline conversations).
  • Started marketing activities for our first course (Become a Solar Entrepreneur) in partnership with HeatSpring.

Goals for this week:

  • Further develop the details of each module of Become a Solar Entrepreneur.
  • Develop the outline for our next 2 courses (How to Buy Solar for Resi & Commercial property owners).
  • Start putting down thoughts about Learning Paths for various roles in the industry
  • Work on the next version of the SolarAcademy home page reflecting the new courses and various sections for property owners as well as contractors.
  • Continue work on the Video Testimonial storyboard for customer referrals

As I conclude this week’s journal update, I would like to talk about the power of meditation. I started meditating about 2 years ago, following a 10-day silent meditation course. Nowadays, I meditate most days for a good 30-60 mins each morning, and if possible, a little bit more in the evenings before going to bed.

There are countless benefits to meditation. One of the most important benefits for me has been the creativity it inspires in me. For me, meditation is really “stopping thinking”. And when I pause my thinking mind (the left side of my brain) then the right side starts connecting many dots.

This morning, the storyboard for our future testimonial videos came to me during my meditation. I love it when creativity happens like that.
