SolarAcademy Journal: Power of Change

The year is definitely off to a fast start. Lots happening on the content front, on projects, and education-related activities. My goals from last week were to move projects forward and make additional headway on the education content.

The good thing is that I already see the next two weeks filled with all of that activity and more. Lots happening on the education front but more general entrepreneurship education rather than just solar education.

My goals for this week are the same as last. Make progress on the solar + storage projects and the solar companies I am advising as well as generate additional course content.

I called the theme of this week’s post – The Power of Change.

The change I want to talk about today is one that most white-collar workers had to deal with in 2020. Yes, I am talking about Zoom. In 2020, most of us changed one key behaviour. And that is the behaviour of getting on Zoom calls instead of going to the office. This behaviour is here to stay and I think it will have some major positive ripple effects.

The fact that most of our information exchange is now happening on the Zoom medium makes each conversation so much more accessible to everyone else. It is super easy to record a meeting and share it. It is also so easy to create self-recorded video clips and share them.

This behaviour change will no doubt accelerate the rate at which we exchange information and I believe will also become a cornerstone of new methods of teaching, learning, and expressing ourselves.

And that is very powerful.
