Significant climate change legislation has been floated in the House

Three Senior House Energy and Commerce Democrats rolled out broad climate change legislation in a 981-page bill. The bill sets up a federal clean energy standard with an 80% goal for clean electricity by 2030 and 100% by 2035. It authorizes $565 billion in spending for decarbonization and addresses environmental justice, energy transition, waste reduction and transport. The bill expands on the 2020 CLEAN Future Act and is inside of Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.
