FERC’s possible next chairman discusses priorities for 2021

The only Democrat on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, who is most likely to become the new chairman under Biden, talked about some issues FERC will most likely tackle in 2021. Richard Glick expressed his disapproval of FERC’s Republican-backed decisions about the interstate energy market operators under their jurisdiction as illegal impositions of federal limitations on state-subsidized renewable resources. He has joined with Republicans on issues like FERC Order 2222 and also sounded dubious about Biden meeting his ambitious decarbonization goals.
