This Earth Day Biden declared a new target for America: a 50-52% reduction in economy-wide net greenhouse gas pollution by 2030. His administration is also talking about reaching 100% carbon pollution-free electricity by 2035 via the deployment of various generating resources, transmission, energy storage, and nuclear power, in addition to a retrofit of fossil-fueled power plants with carbon capture tech. They’ll also address building efficiency upgrades and electrification plus a reduction of tailpipe emissions coupled with boosted vehicle efficiency and funding for EV charging infrastructure.
