Clean Energy Performance Program lacks key support

FERC commissioner James Danly utterly rejected the House Democratic Clean Electricity Performance Program that is being considered in Congress. The bill would incentivize utilities to make good on increased renewables. He said it would “effectively end the markets” while the ranking Republican in the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources declared that no Republican would support the bill. This all came as US Senators talked with FERC about issues related to energy policy and legislative this week.
