This article explores whether or not old power plants with their links to the grid might be repurposed to bring renewables online faster. The belief is that reusing their existing transmission links could make it easier for projects to go live and would bring down the costs of new projects. For example, connecting projects via these former plants could mean circumventing PJM’s gridlocked connection process.
