Apparently US is not set to meet 2050 net-zero goal

A market analysis firm is reporting that despite a cumulative $12 trillion spent on clean energy in North America by 2050, neither the U.S. nor Canada will meet their 2050 net zero targets. Reasons in the U.S. include lack of transmission buildout and increasing demand for electricity. They advise that the U.S. should prioritize procurement and installation of high-voltage direct current transmission, a more efficient transmission system than alternating current.
