CA signed into law legislation that requires battery storage facilities to put in place emergency response and emergency plans plus existing requirements for their O&M to meet standards set by the CPUC. This has been passed in response to the state’s rapid deployment of BESS assets.

Data looking at home and vehicle energy efficiency shows that Utah is the most energy-efficient state and South Carolina is the least. The other most-efficient states are Massachusetts, Vermont, New York and Rhode Island. After South Carolina, the least energy-efficient states are West Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas.
