SPW sat down with lithium battery maker KORE Power to pick their brains about being one of the first large domestic players to step up around greening the grid. There’s a new 500+ member initiative called the National Clean Energy Alliance that has been formed by IREC and the National Council for Workforce Education. It works to bring together industry stakeholders across the value chain to create and share holistic strategies for improving recruitment, education and placement outcomes.

Energy storage in America continues to grow despite supply chain issues and rising costs. An ACP and WoodMac report showed a record 4,733 MWh of grid-scale energy storage installed in Q3 2022, pushing past the previous quarterly high of 4,598 MWh in Q1 of 2021. This amount of battery storage could power 150,000+ U.S. homes for a day.

FERC reports that US smart meter penetration reached 103.1 million in operation on the US grid. For the fourth year in a row the number of advanced meters has gone up by about 8 million and represent 64% of the 159.7 million meters in the country, including in resi and C&I.

SuperGreen Solutions has cooked up new software that allows homeowners to get a quick, ballpark solar estimate in less than a minute. It uses Google Earth imagery data to analyze roof shape and local weather patterns to create a personalized solar plan. Results include estimated savings over 10 years and can also walk homeowners through financing options.
