NEP’s macroinverter is keeping up with large-format panels

Northern Electric Power Technology has seen the writing on the wall when it comes to the increased use of large-format panels. They’ve come up with the “macroinverter,” a 500-W microinverter that can handle the power capacity of large-format modules that push past 500-W. The company guessed, correctly, that these kinds of panels will push their way into the commercial and residential markets. NEP declared that they seek to remove the clipping of energy harvest that comes when inverters don’t have the capacity to keep up with the increased levels of energy generation.
