Nominations imminent for two energy related positions in Biden admin

Biden is on the verge of picking his choices for two key energy-related positions in his administration: Secretary of Energy and White House climate coordinator. Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm will lead the Department of Energy and is supportive of the U.S. move to zero carbon. Gina McCarthy, former EPA Chief under Obama and current Natural Resources Defense Council CEO, will head domestic climate policy. She’ll be the domestic counterpart to John Kerry who will be serving as global climate envoy. Environment America’s Acting President Wendy Wendlandt said of McCarthy: “Together with special envoy on climate John Kerry, this duo will bring assurance to the international community that the U.S. is ready once again to tackle the climate crisis.”
