A recent survey found American consumers overwhelmingly support renewables over fossil fuels. Key findings were: 1) Given a choice, most people prefer new renewables to new fossil-fuel generation sources, 2) Two-thirds of respondents said they would prefer that their electricity provider build more solar projects supported by storage to meet increasing demand rather than new natural gas or coal plants, 3) 48% of respondents had confidence that solar-plus-storage facilities were capable of meeting future electricity demands, 4) Americans are undereducated about their own energy requirements and future needs.
