Data looking at home and vehicle energy efficiency shows that Utah is the most energy-efficient state and South Carolina is the least. The other most-efficient states are Massachusetts, Vermont, New York and Rhode Island. After South Carolina, the least energy-efficient states are West Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas.
