Governor Kathy Hochul of New York’s agenda was unveiled this week, and it included actions that directly advance energy storage technologies in New York: the creation of a new center for battery research and manufacturing and a doubling of the state’s energy storage deployment target from 3GW to 6GW by 2030 (at 3GW it was already the US’ largest state-level policy goal). Her initiatives also include establishing NY as a hub for green hydrogen and investing $1 billion to support EV adoption.
