Considered a possible microcosm of an industry-wide reaction, New Leaf Energy, a dev company formed from a unit of the former Borrego Solar, outlined a strong financial foundation but also made significant layoffs to preserve financial strength. They laid off about a fifth of its workforce – 41 out of 217 employees – in direct response to the impact of the recent budget bill.
