FERC reports that the power grid performed well during extremely cold weather in the winter, with battery storage playing a key role and grid operators’ demand forecasts being more accurate than in the past. There was also an increase in data sharing between generators and gas pipeline operators. FERC also reports that the US needs more energy infrastructure, NERC is eyeballing data center reliability impacts, and FERC staffing is expected to fall in the near future.
