Maxeon Solar Technologies is releasing its frameless, conformable, thin module for commercial rooftop installs, called the Maxeon Air technology platform. The panels include some important innovations: a structure that is frameless with no heavy glass, an adhesive layer allowing for direct install on roof surfaces without racking or mounting systems, a solid metal foundation and stress relieved cell interconnects to combat corrosion and allow for fault tolerant circuits, and an ability to share current in reverse bias voltage when shaded. Maxeon’s version of this tech has a high level of efficiency and is set for wide distribution in Q1 2022.
