CALSSA and other orgs announced a goal of collecting 100,000 public comments over the next 30 days to deliver to the CPUC and governor in December, right before they make a decision about Net Metering (NEM-3). They already delivered 30,000 comments at an event in front of the CPUC headquarters over the summer. The proposed changes would gut the solar and solar-charged battery markets in CA because they would lower the credit solar consumers receive for excess energy by up to 80% and tack on a $65-90 monthly solar penalty fee to their energy bills.
