The DOE came out with a grid-interactive efficient buildings roadmap of recommendations about how to integrate solar and wind in buildings via storage and demand management, estimated to create $200 billion in savings. The Biden administration also announced it would invest $30 million to promote workforce training on construction and maintenance of high-performance buildings tapping renewables, efficient lighting and energy demand management. The announcement included new federal government building standards.
