My name  is Kerim Baran and I am the founder of SolarAcademy. I thought it might be helpful to share my story and why I created SolarAcademy.

I was born to a family who provided me with love, support, and access to a wide range of opportunities. I received my education in some of the leading schools in the world and I experienced working with some of the most prestigious and influential companies in the world. I realize that my positive experiences were a result of the opportunities I were given.

Growing up and operating in these niche environments, my most painful memories were observing how some of the seemingly successful and powerful people treated others. I observed three kinds of powerful people. The ones that step on others. The ones that are oblivious to others. And the ones that raise others.

These days, when young entrepreneurs or professionals seek my advice, I usually tell them to initiate the change they would like to see in the world. SolarAcademy is my attempt to be the change I want to see in the world by equalizing access to and realizing the value of opportunities. SolarAcademy is my effort to create a world with more power equity and a harmonized power balance and to assist the powerful and privileged to be more committed to raising others.

I have always believed that the best way to raise others is by sharing our knowledge and power, like good parents do. SolarAcademy is my attempt to educate and influence powerful business leaders to alter their behaviors to share more of their unique knowledge and experiences as well as their power and influence.

My goal with SolarAcademy is to help raise our collective consciousness so that the successful and powerful people help educate others who have had fever opportunities by sharing their knowledge and experience. A leader is one who does not hoard his power and information, or use their access to resources as a lever to control and manipulate others, but one that values helping others grow to their level.

And, where better to start this movement but the power and energy industry. I invite leaders and early followers of change in the power and energy industry, to share their knowledge and their experiences to help create a healthier, more equitable, and more harmonized power balance in the world.
