Who is Energy Toolbase?

CollectiveSun, a company that specializes in helping nonprofits go solar, recently sat down with Energy Toolbase to talk about how they help contractors model energy storage projects. Energy Toolbase is a software company whose platform allows users to model, control, and monitor solar and energy storage projects. Having partnered with the company in the past, CollectiveSun felt it was important to introduce Energy Toolbase’s capabilities to contractors and developers who may not have encountered them before.

You can learn more about Energy Toolbase on their Solar Academy profile page. Additionally, we give you the lowdown on CollectiveSun on their Solar Academy profile page.

The transcript for the video is below.

Jordyn Fenner of Energy Toolbasee:

If you aren’t familiar with energy tool base, we have essentially all of your software needs handled when modeling controlling and monitoring battery projects. So we take a life cycle approach to help ensure that developers have the tools they need to sell projects and to keep their customers happy.

Now, looking at the past when John Gurski, our founder, started ETB he identified a gap in the solar index. Everyone had their own spreadsheet and process for modeling the economics of solar projects. But we were able to create an industry standard for how to model PV, accurately and transparently. Now, as the distributed energy market grows, the current challenge with solar is it’s intermittency and its variability.

Solar is great, but by itself you can’t control when you use it. So we’re increasingly seeing batteries deployed to help smooth out that barrier. But today we’re seeing another gap in the industry. Developers are being asked by their clients to assess the viability of batteries, and we anticipated this need.

So now we’ve got the modeling tools for you to be able to use our developer platform, to design both solar and storage opportunities.
