Qcells (the largest module manufacturer in the US) is investing $170 million in a new module assembly plant – adding an additional 1.4 GW to US manufacturing. They already operate a 1.7 GW plant in Georgia and this addition will bring their total to 3.1 GW capacity. The company cited market uncertainties and increased need for renewables for their reasoning, though they also acknowledge that policy will make a difference going forward.
