Span CEO Arch Rao thinks that selling solar this decade will be more about electric appliances – and the smart home revolution – than anything else. Inside of that, the company has created a new Smart Panel that’s got voice integration with Amazon’s Alexa. They’ve also scored $20 million more in funding. This product upgrade continues the integration with LG, Panasonic and Tesla. The upside for solar installers is that they’ll skip the annoyingly complex process of installing a subpanel when upgrading to energy storage. The whole process, including upselling to the customer, will be streamlined.
