Week 28.
Another productive week.
Done last week:
- Sent our first high 6-digit solar+battery solution project proposal and contract. Very close to signing, fingers crossed!
- Explored multi-stakeholder, sustainability and transparency focused project delivery models as well as financial and legal models to support that approach
- Came to an agreement with Brian Hayden, founder of HeatSpring and University of Michigan Ann Harbor Center for Entrepreneurship, to co-teach this Solar Entrepreneurship Course targeting people who are looking to start their own companies in the Solar Industry.
- Continued conversations with numerous long-tail-of-solar focused early-stage companies and investors to help grow our Enki Solar Investments initiative.
To-do this week:
- Develop the outline for our next 2 courses (How to Buy Solar for Resi & Commercial property owners).
- Start putting down thoughts about Learning Paths for various roles in the industry
- Continue work on the next version of the SolarAcademy home page reflecting the new courses and various sections for property owners as well as contractors.
- Developed the first draft of the Video Testimonial storyboard for customer referrals
- Continued exploration of hybrid models of organizational structures for SolarAcademy
Thoughts:
Hybrid models are in my mind this week. Hybrid models apply to so many things. By the way, I am not thinking about Hybrid cars… though I like them. I am thinking about concepts like public-private partnership (but with transparency), B-Corps, Co-ops (but with high levels of accountability and fair rewards), the best elements of Capitalism and Socialism merged in a new model (see this video by Daniel Schmactenberger)… Environmental and Social Sustainability and Economic progress…. But really my current focus is on how we can apply hybrid models in the most efficient way to our power systems. I mean our power infrastructure initially, how to merge local utilities with independent micro-grids that will be forming all over the world. And maybe applying these learnings to other areas… like hybrid remote and in-person education and beyond… and so many other areas of life (social, political, economic, and environmental) which I look forward to exploring in the future…
