There’s a new home backup system available from OutBack Power that combines solar, storage and natural-gas or diesel generators. Outback is saying that the system can back up an entire house when a grid is offline (tapping generator output first and using solar and storage for less power-intensive loads), which is more power than most solar+storage solutions can offer. For disaster prone areas in the US this kind of solution around resiliency is very attractive. Generac Power Systems has also recently launched a similar solution.
