Flexible thin-film modules are branching out! Traditionally only applied to mobile applications, a number of vendors are offering more powerful modules that work well for rooftop scenarios that can’t support the full weight of traditional ones (and their accompanying mounting hardware). Sunflare’s Flex60 is the same size as the traditional 60-cell crystalline silicon module but is frameless, weighs only 11 lbs and produces up to 185 W. Lumeta and Merlin have offerings as well.
