DOE funded consortium for grid decarbonizing inverters

$25 million is now available from the DOE to create a public-private consortium for grid-forming inverters development. These inverters will be powerful enough to distribute renewables across multiple states – allowing industrial scale solar, wind and battery resources to help stabilize the grid along with traditional generators. The consortium will gather researchers from multiple laboratories and universities plus manufacturers and utilities.
