BlueGreen Alliance, a coalition of labor unions and environmental organizations, released its User Guide to the Inflation Reduction Act. The resource gives definitive info to policymakers, union leaders, and community leaders on how to effectively implement IRA benefits. Areas include manufacturing, transmission, EVs and buildings.

The DOE is investing $14 million in examining the way solar infrastructure impacts wildlife and ecosystems. Researchers will be looking at the interactions of pronghorns, pollinators, birds, and other species with solar energy facilities in 26 different states. The study will also look at how to develop tools to assess and help optimize ecosystem services at solar sites.

The PPA marketplace LevelTen Energy has reported that PPA prices have gone up 9.6% during Q3 2022 to an average of $45.93 per MWh, 34% higher than this time in 2021. Demand for renewables remains strong, though supply chain issues and transmission constraints are tempering the growth.

Aerocompact has just come out with the CompactFLAT GS system, a highly elevated flat roof racking system specifically designed for installs on green roofs with bifacial modules. Key is the ability to achieve the distance needed so that a green roof surface can be maintained. There are two versions: the model for a south-facing solution with inclination of 15° and the model for an east/west-facing solution with inclination of 10°.

Solar Power World has given us a roundup of panel manufacturers in the US. The article has an overview of 15 companies, including info about each one’s current status, future plans, and the role of the IRA in their development.
